  • Condition: Neatly hand worked. Clean and bright. No stains. The wood frames show light aging and wear overall, with light scuffs and scratches. There is more wear and dings along the upper ends of both frames, and the right side of the blue jay frame. I show some close ups. Tight frame corners. Very minor marks or rubs on the mats. Minor tears to the backing paper. No glass.

    Here is a pair of vintage wooden framed completed crewel embroidery pictures of birds in the forest / trees. One has a blue jay and the other a cardinal, red bird. Looks like ivory or off-white linen cloth. Yarn colors include multiple shades of brown, green, red and white, with blue, gray and black. There is also work done in red, white and black embroidery floss / thread. The frames do not have glass. Both have approx. 1 1/4" wide light brown or tan mats. Neither picture is signed or dated.
    The visible needlework areas measure approx. 11" tall x 9 1/4" wide.
    Neatly hand worked. Clean and bright. No stains.
    Each matching lightweight wood frame measures approx. 15" tall x 13" wide, and is about 3/4" deep. Brown paper backing seals. Each has a metal hanger at the top. The wood has a brown/black woodgrain finish, with gold inner border accent.
    The wood frames show light aging and wear overall, with light scuffs and scratches. There is more wear and dings along the upper ends of both frames, and the right side of the blue jay frame. I show some close ups. Tight frame corners. Very minor marks or rubs on the mats. Minor tears to the backing paper. No musty or smoke odor.
    Each framed picture weighs about 1 lb.
